RED’s groundbreaking new 6K Epic Dragon and lightweight Dragon Carbon Fiber cameras are now available for rental at Radiant Images, a leading LA-based rental house and digital cinema innovator.

The RED Dragon offers filmmakers dynamic range once thought impossible for a digital sensor, capturing images that are true to life in color and crispness, even in the most challenging lighting conditions.RED Dragon and RED Dragon Carbon now available to filmmakers at Radiant Images

Every 6K frame is a 19 megapixel RAW image, which is up to 9x more pixels than 1080p HD. The amount of picture detail found in a 6K image goes beyond that of 35mm, comparing only to 65mm in image density.

With the Dragon in high demand and limited supply, Radiant Images (www.radiantimages.com) is one of a select number of rental houses with both of the new cameras available for rental. The Dragon and Dragon Carbon join Radiant’s family of RED cameras, including the Epic, Scarlet-X and Mysterium-X.

“The RED Dragon is taking digital cinema to the next level and we’re excited to be able to offer these two incredible new cameras to our clients,” said Michael Mansouri, Vice President of Radiant Images. “The image quality goes beyond what we’ve seen before with the brilliance of the colors and just how sharp and clean the images are. The Dragon is a truly amazing innovation.”

Radiant technicians are working with filmmakers and camera operators to test the RED Dragon and create RED Dragon camera packages for specific projects.
